TOB 204 Dec 17/Jan 18

Changing plans… from straw bale to hemp

The Owner Builder 204 December 2017/January 2018 is on sale nationwide from 1 December 2017.

Owner builders once again share their amazing range of projects with us: building with Formblock, converting a church, stacks (and stacks…) of stonework, straw bale and hemp. From window efficiency to using brick to create patterns, preparing your home for bushfire to maximising daylight in the home, there are also plenty of technical hints and tricks to help you along your design path. See the website and Sample Issue Extract  for more details.

The extract article this issue starts right at the begining… Matthew and Narelle have finally got through the planning stage (after many changes and delays) and are ready to see their hemp home rising from the ground.

Back issues shed woes…
Unfortunately the regular TOB storage shed suffered a major malfunction… As a result, for the foreseeable future, there are NO individual hard copy versions of back issues. All are still available as digital PDF versions – just remember to provide your email address when ordering.
Luckily I had already packed up a number of The Lot and moved them out of the shed, ready for Christmas orders. I can therefore still fulfill hard copy orders of The Lot, but only with a limited supply.
I’m hoping to be able to recover some hard copies. If so, then they will go back on sale with the next issue. Thank you for your understanding.

P.S. Subscribers really are the backbone of continued production of the magazine.
If you are a regular reader and enjoy the content provided, please consider taking
out a subscription – for yourself or someone else – this Christmas. Thank you.
